Dentures
Sandy, Bedfordshire
Losing teeth doesn’t mean losing your smile. Dentures offer a comfortable, natural-looking solution to bring back your confidence and make eating and speaking easier. At Aura Dental, we create dentures designed just for you – crafted to fit perfectly, feel great, and look like they’ve always been part of your smile.
What are dentures?
Dentures are custom-made replacements for missing teeth. They’re crafted from high-quality materials to look and feel like your natural teeth and gums.
Whether you’re missing a few teeth or need a full set, dentures can help you regain a smile that’s as unique as you are.
Types of dentures we offer

Partial dentures
Ideal for replacing a few missing teeth, partial dentures are attached to your remaining natural teeth with precision clasps or a metal framework.

Full dentures
Designed for patients who have lost all their teeth in one or both arches. Full dentures sit comfortably on the gums and restore your entire smile.

Implant-retained dentures
A more secure and stable option, implant-supported dentures are anchored to dental implants placed in the jawbone, offering superior comfort and functionality.
The denture process

Consultation & assessment
We’ll begin with a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health to determine the best type of denture for you.

Impressions and design
Detailed impressions or scans of your gums and teeth are taken to create a custom fit. You’ll also have input on the colour, shape, and size of your new teeth for a natural look.

Fitting and adjustments
Once your dentures are ready, we’ll fit them and make adjustments to ensure they feel comfortable and function as they should.

Follow-up care
We’ll guide you on how to care for your dentures and schedule follow-ups to ensure everything fits perfectly as your mouth adjusts.
How to care for your dentures
-
Daily cleaning
Rinse and brush your dentures with a soft-bristled brush to remove food particles and plaque.
-
Handle with care
Always clean your dentures over a sink filled with water or a soft towel to prevent damage if dropped.
-
Soaking
Use a denture cleaner to soak your dentures overnight and keep them fresh.
-
Regular check-ups
Visit us regularly to ensure your dentures continue to fit well and to address any changes in your mouth.
The best type of denture depends on your needs. Full dentures are ideal if you’re replacing all your teeth, while partial dentures are great for filling gaps when some natural teeth remain. For a more secure and long-lasting solution, implant-supported dentures offer superior stability and comfort. During your consultation, we’ll help you choose the option that’s perfect for you.
Implant-supported dentures are often considered the most comfortable because they’re securely anchored to dental implants, preventing movement. Custom-fitted traditional dentures can also be very comfortable, especially when crafted to match your mouth perfectly and supported by modern, lightweight materials.
Dentures made from high-quality materials like acrylic or porcelain can mimic the appearance of natural teeth and gums beautifully. Customisation is key – we design dentures to match your facial structure, smile, and preferences, ensuring they look as natural as possible.
While it’s possible to sleep with dentures, it’s generally recommended to remove them at night. Taking your dentures out allows your gums to rest and helps maintain oral hygiene by giving you the chance to clean both your dentures and your mouth thoroughly. Soaking dentures overnight also helps keep them fresh and prevents them from drying out.
